Florida is the eighth-most expensive state for car insurance, according to a new state-by-state comparison of auto insurance premiums by Insure.com.
Floridians are paying an average of $1,654 annually for insurance, $329 higher than the nationwide average of $1,325.
Michigan ($2,738) came out on top for the third year in a row for the most-expensive car insurance rates in the nation, while Montana ($2,297) captured the No. 2 spot for the second year in a row. New Jersey ($1,905) broke into the top five for the first time ever, Louisiana ($1,842) was No. 4, and Oklahoma ($1,778) rounded out the top five.
On the flipside of the cost coin, Maine grabbed the No. 1 spot for the cheapest car insurance at $808 annually.
